Armor Plate 800-4 is a flexibilized bisphenol resin seal coat or top coat that contains 5% wax. It is applied after the area to be lined has been completely laminated. Armor Plate 800-4 should be applied to the laminated areas as soon as possible. AP 800-4 is a pigmented polyester resin. Its color may vary due to the exothermic reaction of the catalyst.

Chemical Resistance

Armor Plate 800-4 shows excellent chemical resistance to acids, petroleum solvents, salts, caustics and some bleaches. Refer to the Wil-Cor, Inc. chart CEC-305, Corrosion Resistant Chart, for resistance to various chemicals. Contact the Wil-Cor, Inc. Installation Recommendation

Wil-Cor, Inc. recommends supervision by Wil-Cor or that this product be installed by experienced fiberglass installers. Preparation, mixing and application information is provided for installers with adequate installation experience.

Mix resin (part A) and Catalyst (part B) at the job site, immediately prior to application. The pot life of Armor Plate 800-4 is very short (15 min.) so only mix quantities that can be used during a 10-minute period.

The mixing ratio of resin: catalyst will vary with temperature. The catalyst is Armor Plate 60, methyl ethyl ketone peroxide. Use 1.0 to 2.5 oz. of catalyst per gallon of resin.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces to which Armor Plate 800-4 is to be applied should be clean, dry and free from loose debris. Apply to the laminated areas as soon as possible.
