Description
Armor Plate 700-2 vinyl ester slurry coat is primarily used to prime concrete substrates as part of the Armor Plate 700 Lining System. This inert-filled resin fills voids, reduces the coefficient of expansion in concrete and reduces moisture transmission through concrete. AP700-2 bonds to steel, concrete and wood. It may also be used to saturate fiberglass mat or cloth.
Chemical Resistance
Armor Plate 700-2 shows excellent chemical resistance to acids, salts, caustics, petroleum solvents, and some bleaches. Refer to the Wil-Cor, Inc. chart CEC-305, Corrosion Resistant Chart, for resistance to various chemicals. Contact the Wil-Cor, Inc. Technical Department for chemical resistance in other specific service conditions.

Installation Recommendation
Wil-Cor, Inc. recommends supervision by Wil-Cor or that this product be installed by experienced fiberglass installers. Preparation, mixing and application information is provided for installers with adequate installation experience.
Mixing
Armor Plate 700-2 is mixed with Armor Plate 60 (MEK Peroxide) catalyst. Use 0.75 to 2.0 oz. of MEK Peroxide for each gallon of Armor Plate 700-2 resin. The mixing ratio of resin : catalyst will vary with temperature.
Mix resin (part A) and Catalyst (part B) at the job site, immediately prior to application. The pot life of AP 700-2 is very short (10 min.) so only mix quantities that can be used during a 10-minute period.
Surface Preparation
A clean surface is necessary to properly apply AP 700-2. Remove dirt, oil, other contaminants and loose debris. All surfaces must be dry before AP 700-2 is applied.
Application
Armor Plate 700-2 may be applied with a brush, roller, squeegee or by spray equipment.
Packaging
Armor Plate 700-2 is available in 5-gallon pails and 55 gallon drums.
Coverage and Estimating
The approximate coverage of Armor Plate 700-2 is 75 sq. ft. / gallon, depending on the surface texture.
Shelf Life
The expected shelf life of the Armor Plate 700-2 is a minimum of 3 months when sealed tightly and stored at temperatures around 77 °F.
